Change Manager

What’s this position about?

Makosi is looking for dynamic and highly skilled Change Manager to join our team.


On a daily basis, the change manager must work with a great variety of people, both within IT and the business. He or she must have a good understanding of the business needs and goals to help prioritize the changes that will have the biggest impact on the business bottom line. This role will report directly to the Head of Product.


The change manager will liaise with the business relationship manager to understand the business needs and to make certain the appropriate parties in the business understand any IT infrastructure issues that may be affecting productivity.


During this era of DevOps, the change manager will work between development and operations, providing a smooth transition of services from Dev to Ops without placing artificial barriers which may hinder an agile way of working while still managing risk for the business.


Your role will also involve focusing on the people side of new features, identifying the impact on the various teams, getting them ready for the change, and handling any resistance to change. You will play a key role in the success of organizational change including changes to business processes, technologies, systems and organization structures, focusing on employee adoption and usage. You will be responsible for creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance of new product. You'll also be providing direct support and coaching to managers as they help their direct reports through technology transitions.


We are looking for an individual who is highly organized and structured, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills, who will take initiative within our product team to reach both their own personal career goals and our overall business goals.

Skills required

  • Good working knowledge with Azure DevOps and Asana
  • Thrive in a fast paced, results-oriented environment, solve problems creatively, think on your feet
  • Good understanding of change management principles, techniques & tools
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Experience/Training in risk-management techniques
  • 3+ years of change management experience, including working with business stakeholders
Salary range

R650,000 - R1000,000 CTC (depending on experience)

Duties

  • Review and record requests for change (RFCs)
  • Accept or reject RFCs
  • Categorize change requests
  • Prioritize changes according to business objectives
  • Managing the transition of changes from the development team to operations
  • Identify and manage risks and ensure any concerns are escalated to the Head of Product
  • Provide status reporting around project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues
  • Developing change management plans for projects
  • Integrate change management activities into project plan
  • Leading change management with a structured process
  • Providing regular status reports to stakeholders
  • Providing reporting and other updates to management and project teams
  • Co-ordinating UAT testing of the feature with the relevant SMEs
  • Implementation and training of users on the new features within the business
  • Providing coaching and training to employees at all levels
  • Identifying and managing anticipated resistance to change
  • Driving adoption by ensuring new features are utilized by business users, and identifying reasons for non-use, if applicable
  • Track and report issues
  • Maintain all change documentation (policies, procedures, templates, etc.)
